WHO WE ARE

The AIKB (Association Intégration Kreiz Breizh) is located in Gouarec 22570 and is a non-profit-making association set up in 2003 (in accordance with French law) with the aim of helping 'newcomers' settle into their new life in Brittany.

All members are entitled to vote at the Annual General Meeting.

Members pay an annual subscription of 45 euros per household, plus a one-off joining fee of 10 euros.

Members who contribute to the association by way of their subscription fee are very important in supporting the work we do – so every member is valuable.

The AIKB:

  • Helps members understand official letters and forms; make telephone calls to the administrative services; helps complete forms; and explains the steps to take with other tasks such as applying for health cover, declaring income, applying for a residency permit, exchanging a driving licence, setting up a business, registering a car, applying for planning permission...
  • Acts as a mediator in complex cases;
  • Holds regular conferences – from setting up your own business to inheritance law and lots more in between;
  • Organises cultural outings to places of interest;
  • Arranges regular social events to help you make new friends;
  • Organises French lessons for non-French speakers;
  • Holds a weekly informal Conversation Club – a chance to improve your language skills with local French volunteers;
  • Has a number of clubs which meet on a regular basis – Art & Textiles Club, Photography Club, Gardening Club;
  • Runs an English language lending library with over a thousand books – and is regularly updated thanks to the generous donations from our members;
  • Produces its own monthly English language community radio programme Spotlight on Brittany. Listen-in to find out more about the life and culture of Brittany. We have lots of useful topics for those new and not so new to Brittany. You can also improve your French listening skills with our bi-lingual interviews. All recordings can be downloaded. Spotlight on Brittany is broadcast on Radio Kreiz Breizh and Radio Bro Gwened.
  • The AIKB is a RELAIS EUROPARMOR – the Conseil Departmental 22's initiative to promote mobility, training and working in Europe by our cultural exchange projects with schools and colleges and promoted on our radio programme.
  • The AIKB is also a partner with CPAM Côtes d'Armor – giving us direct access to CPAM on behalf of urgent or priority cases.
