On Monday 25th March 2024, the INSEAC students organized a guided visit in English of the Guingamp prison for AIKB members.

This prison was built in 1836 and the first prisoners arrived in May 1841. Its architecture was very modern at the time, as it was based on the idea that a prison was not only a confinement place but also a place for education and re-adaptation.

The prison remained open until 1952. It belonged to the State until 1992, when it was purchased by the commune of Guingamp. It now belongs to Historic Monuments and is open to the public. It is also the GwinZegal art centre which is mainly based on contemporary photography and which collaborates on numerous projects with INSEAC students.

Once the visit was over, AIKB members had the opportunity to exchange with the students and other participants over a coffee.
