You do not need to have an expensive camera and lenses to get the most out of your photography at the AIKB Photo Club.
The quality of the images you produce are more closely linked to your skills than your equipment – you never hear of a top chef being complemented on the quality of their oven.
While a better camera might let you take different or more complex pictures, it will not automatically make you a better photographer.
Many club members use mobile phone cameras, entry level and compact cameras with great success.
When thinking about up grading your equipment, club members are always happy to share their advice and experience.
The use of photo editing software, which can be used to enhance the images you take is very common. Lightroom and Photoshop are popular and can be obtained for a modest monthly subscription. However, many other editing packages are available. Some members use software built in to their computer, use photo editing software included with their camera, or mobile phone applications (apps), many of which are free to download. The Snapseed app is popular with club members who want to edit photographs on their mobile phones.
Using photo editing software with your images can open up a whole new area of enjoyment and creativity. Again, please do not hesitate to discuss this area of photography with club members.
