Our 16th outing will be held in Caurel on Thursday 27th February 2025 at 2:30pm. It will be a moderately easy walk of appx 6.5 kms, which will be followed by a social get-together for everyone in the welcoming warmth of Caurel’s ‘Valfrescos’ bar/cafe!
Our walk will take us on a pleasantly varied circular route along minor roads, tracks, the Voie Verte and wooded footpaths with boardwalks following the scenic shore of Lake Guerledan. Special thanks to Annette for once again helping to recce (and refine) the route of our walk!
It’s mostly easy going, with no steep hills. Around half-way, we’ll enjoy a break on the lakeside, where there’s also a ‘natural’ loo.
Meet in good time for a 2.30pm start in the carpark just downhill from ‘Valfrescos’ where our genial (and bilingual) host Larry will be opening specially to welcome us all on our return. (Larry’s ‘Valdefrescos’ is usually closed on Thursdays at this time of year, so we’re especially grateful for his hospitality!)

Directions: In the middle of Caurel village, turn off the main road (D2164, Rue Roc’Hell) onto D111 Route du Lac opposite the ‘Captain Cook’ (you’ll see ‘Valdefrescos’ in the fork of the junction) - the car park is on the left about 120m downhill on the D111 ‘Route du Lac’

Let’s hope for a nice fine afternoon on Thursday 27 February! However if the weather forecast is truly dire we may postpone the walk; in which case we will publicise the new date by email.
