Nine members of the Art and Textiles group thoroughly enjoyed a workshop of Tataki Zome or flower pounding, lead by Sarah Reed this Saturday. This is an ancestral Japanese art form which was particularly popular with Victorian ladies.

We experimented with a variety of blooms and foliage, pounding onto fabric and paper. We are now inspired to further experiment with different flowers, on to a variety of materials.

A big thank you must go to Sarah Reed who took the workshop and shared with us her expertise and enthusiasm.
